Malvisi began his artistic career at the age of 30. Prior to that, he had been involved in literature and theater, whilst reinforcing his art studies. After five years of frenzied painting, he enrolled at the Free School of Nude at the Venice Academy, under the guidance of Luigi Tito. However, Malvisi does not share his teaching methods and leaves the school. He follows through his love of arts with various types of sculptures. in wood, stone, bronze engravings, decorative ceramics and drawing.

Malvisi’s works are currently on display in public and private collections in Italy, France, Brazil, USA, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Slovenia, Australia. 



artist's statement

Art is absolute freedom even if the artist cannot ignore the social context in which he lives in. The artist can, however, elaborate this context and build upon it firm inner rules. The artist needs a personal vision of life that we want to follow. This necessity means elevation for him or her. He must obey his inner “ego”, an ego which must always be aware of the flow of life; an ego which, like a jet of water, needs to break out instead of staying constrained.

Who has not a little inner space where he or she preserves a mysterious something that he has inexplicably found?  
Who has not something he or she would like to carry out yet often leads to dissatisfaction, sadness and disappointment?
The artist’s eagerness in trying to reach something is greater, deeper and more complex. The artist cannot be, but complicated. One needs time to become mature, to be able to remain oneself: he is like an unrepeatable unicorn in the history of art and beauty.During creation, she can only give and never receive. He is not God but in a way he is god-like since he creates ex novo. She is a god hidden by God with an appearance of a normal “I”.  The artist doesn’t exist without some level of sufferance.

I agree with Proust when he says that art is a question of spirit and vision rather than technique. In art, it is not important what appears, but what is. Even what looks unpleasant, may be considered beautiful in art; that’s at least one of the tragic paradoxes of beauty. The total knowledge of art is inexhaustible. The artist may be a hero or a coward, but the ultimate concern is what he does as an artist.
